Vocabulary Learning Strategies Employed by Indonesian Virtual Exchange Students

This study investigated the types of vocabulary learning strategies (VLS) employed by Indonesian college students. The specifically aimed to find out (a) most and least frequently used VLS, (b) useful VLS. A total 105 nursing students who attended a virtual exchange program during odd semester 2021/2022 academic year participated in this study. was ex post facto research which strategy questionnaire collect data. To answer questions, collected data were analyzed using SPSS statistics 25.0, including descriptive statistics. overall findings revealed that terms five categories, determination reported be social ones. In individual strategies, ‘using bilingual dictionaries either print or electronic’, ‘guessing word meaning through context’, ‘learning new items videos”. frequent ones ‘asking word’s synonym teacher’ ‘communicating with native speakers. Furthermore, participants assumed electronic’ ‘taking notes words’ as strategies. Considering results, both lecturers must more aware effective achieve better results
